This simulation visualizes the electric field and electric potential along the x-axis for two charged particles.

How to Use:
  • Click-and-drag the particles to move them left or right.
  • The particle on the left is confined to the region left of the origin.
  • The particle on the right is confined to the region right of the origin.
  • Use the sliders in the Controls panel to adjust the charges of the particles.
Graph Interpretation:

On the graph:

  • The electric field (purple) is shown as positive if directed to the right, negative if directed left.
  • The electric potential (green) shows the potential energy per unit charge.
  • You can choose to display only the field, only the potential, or both using the buttons in the Controls panel.

Red particles represent positive charges, blue particles represent negative charges.
